ORION

I Undid Orion’s Belt

A mythological and psychological album now being reimagined as a rock opera exploring love, power, and transformation through archetypal storytelling.

Originally recorded in Toronto with Juno Award–winning producer Greg Kavanagh, I Undid Orion’s Belt is a bold and immersive work inspired by the Greek myth of Orion – the hunter, the pursued, and the pursued-within. Drawing on ancient myth and contemporary psychological themes, the album explores the tension between desire, control, vulnerability, and transcendence.

The music features lush orchestral arrangements by Russian orchestrator Kirill Shirokov, creating a cinematic and emotionally charged soundscape that evokes a world of gods, mortals, and transformation.

Now evolving into a libretto and immersive stage work, I Undid Orion’s Belt marks the foundation of a larger mythological universe spanning music, film, and performance.

Fairy Tales and The Death of Innocence

A luminous collection of layered ballads and intimate, emotionally resonant songwriting, this album reveals Michaela Foster Marsh’s distinctive voice and theatrical sensibility.

The featured track Fallen Angel was selected for the television series Dawson’s Creek, introducing her work to an international audience and marking an early recognition of her unique artistic voice.

With its rich arrangements and cinematic atmosphere, the album showcases her ability to merge vulnerability with dramatic intensity, creating a deeply immersive listening experience.

Third Album

Seriously Red

Seriously Red marks a powerful creative collaboration between Michaela Foster Marsh and Russian composer and orchestrator Kirill Shirokov. Following their work together on I Undid Orion’s Belt, Shirokov invited Michaela to compose lyrics and vocals for a new body of music shaped by his extensive background in classical composition and orchestration.

The result is a richly textured and emotionally expansive album, blending cinematic orchestration with contemporary songwriting. Michaela’s lyrical voice moves through themes of resilience, self-reliance, and transformation, carried by Shirokov’s sophisticated musical architecture.

The album also features selected tracks produced in collaboration with veteran producer and composer Rolf Soja, internationally recognised for his iconic production Yes Sir, I Can Boogie. Their collaboration adds a subtle nod to his celebrated disco legacy, most notably on the closing track, I Will Rely On Me, which affirms the album’s central theme of personal sovereignty.
